[Nicaraguan Painter, b.1927]
Armando Morales took birth in Granada, Nicaragua on 15th January, 1927,he was the youngest one among other six children in his family who was deeply attached with religion. After two years his family moved to Managua, the Capital, where was greater opportunities for his father to expand his hardware business.
Since Early childhood Armando showed a great art interest, together with a painter’s fascination tools. He Recalls that at the age of seven or six, he searched in depth for a oil paints box which his sister had used with a spatula to decorate handkerchiefs and coasters. He also remembers that the brand it was Pelikan, but his mother annoyed because of his continous searching and the box was never found.
Morales’ skill for drawing did not go unnoticed by his teachers.Among them, one, by whom, grammar, arithmetic and painting have been taught, frequently praised his portrait paintings while turning a blind eye to his laziness in other subjects. Painting ceased to be only, by this time, a school activity: He also Painted at home on his return from school. He also painted some imaginary landscapes with Morales in 1938, regards as the true beginning of his artistic career.
The School of Fine Arts of Managua had a rigorous academic curriculum. It was dawing dedicated year, the first year, initially with charcoal, and with crayon, later on, inanimate models of plaster and woods, and also all kinds of cloth.In the second year, perspective history of arts and anatomy had been taught, yet working with charcoal and crayon, introduction of live models made.
